Our journey begins in Muscat, where we head southward along the scenic Wadi Hatat to reach the charming fishing town of Quriyat. Quriyat is a small but significant coastal town with a rich maritime history. As we drive through its narrow streets, you’ll catch glimpses of traditional Omani life and the busy fishing port that supplies fresh seafood to nearby markets.
A little after Quriyat, the graded road begins, offering breathtaking views of the Gulf of Oman. The road runs parallel to the coast, giving you stunning panoramas of the turquoise waters, sandy beaches, and rugged cliffs.
The mosque’s architecture is a masterpiece, with intricate mosaics, hand-carved details, and a grand chandelier that beautifully illuminates the prayer hall. Dress Code: Women should wear clothing that covers their arms and legs, along with a headscarf, while men are required to wear normal shirts and trousers.
Our first stop on this scenic route is at the Bimah Sinkhole, a natural limestone crater created by the collapse of a cave roof. After exploring Wadi Shab, we continue to Wadi Tiwi, another equally stunning wadi known for its sheer cliffs and fertile riverbed. The farmers here cultivate various fruits and vegetables, using the fertile land to grow produce like bananas, papayas, and dates.

Following the exploration of Wadi Tiwi, we return to Muscat via the same coastal route, arriving back in the city early in the afternoon. This thrilling adventure along Oman’s coastal route is a must for those who love nature, adventure, and exploring hidden gems.
